# Fix inconsistent logout procedure

It takes 2 clicks to log out and 3 clicks to quit the program and the experience is inconsistent between Mac and Windows.

Mac:  
Click **Log Out** , then click **Quit** , then click **Quit** or **Close**.  
If you click Quit the 2nd time, FileMaker quits. If you click Close, it closes CheckIn and you can continue in FileMaker.

Windows:  
Click **Log Out** , then click **Quit** , then click **Quit** or **Close**.  
If you click Quit the 2nd time, FileMaker quits. If you click Close, FileMaker quits.

Proposed workflow:

```auto
Exit -|
      |- Log out (takes you to login screen)
      |- Close (closes CheckIn, leaves FileMaker running)
      |- Quit (quits application)

```

it would be nice to just log out and everything closes.

But sometimes you want to switch users. Then you’d have to re-open everything every time.  
I’m trying to balance the least amount of clicks with the most amount of functionality.
