Quilt Shop examples - Sales by Department reports

This is the report we use to restock our shop floor. It tells us what was sold during a time period (usually a day), so we know what we should look to bring out from the stockroom.

I’ve attached both the “Today’s Sales by Dept” and “Sales by Dept” reports for today, 2/5/26. Both are the detailed view, because we rarely use the summary for these.

They’re basically the same, just sorted differently. If I could only choose one, I’d choose “Sales by Dept” because sometimes we are restocking for multiple days’ worth of sales. And then it’s nice to specify a start and end date - e.g, the weekend’s worth of sales.

NOTE - once you’re ready to enhance these, I would really prefer a report that replaces the cost information with current stock numbers (in stock, available, etc). I don’t need my employees accidentally setting this down and a customer seeing what we pay for stuff. For example, as I walk through the shop and see that there are 2 of something on the floor, if I can see on my report that those are the last 2 in stock, I won’t waste time hunting in the back or independently looking up stock status.

Thanks
