I want the ability to create a kit/bundle despite some or all of the quantities going negative. You can prompt me (“Are you sure?”) but otherwise let me do it. Especially since there are other times like customer sales where quantity is allowed to go negative.
Business reasons: many times we have all the parts of a kit but one, and it’ll be here any day (e.g., waiting on more patterns to arrive). Currently not allowed to bundle until all components are available in stock.
That means that all the other components appear available either when an employee does a quick look in CheckIn for a customer who’s called, or when someone is looking at our website. And in order to avoid that, I have to jump through hoops by creating an order to reserve that inventory, then remember to undo that order once I’m ready to create the kits.
Something like this might also help us with preselling bundles or kits, again without faking out the system to think we have stock that we don’t, then again undoing it when the stock arrives.
